Castle Donington Village Hall Upgrades

The revised plans, option 2

The Plan now is to get the various necessary quotes together with a plan of the majority of the work being undertaken during the summer holiday break, where the village hall and sports facilities will be closed for approximately 6 weeks. This is the only option that will have the least impact on the existing regular bookings.

Work Begins - 17th July 2023

Where possible the Parish Council is looking to use its existing contractor base, to keep the works local and where necessary go through the quote procedures in line with its financial regulations.

The work being planned as Option 2 includes ensuring the heating and lighting systems are current and up to date with today's regulations and legislation and being as green as practicable.

New windows and doors are to be installed to improve the efficiency of the building and aesthetically make it look more attractive too.

The old shutters will be removed, a new patio and access to the sports room will enhance the facility for the benefit of the local cricket clubs and potentially attract more users.

The heating system and radiators will be updated to Stelrad Softline in line with current legislation, in particular in relation to use of the facilities by children and young people.

The main kitchen, bar area and sports kitchen will see complete renovations with smooth lines, coordinated and efficient equipment, making them a more attractive feature for all the users.

The flooring in the main hall and sports areas is to be renovated, where appropriate, and replaced with new in other areas.

CCTV, alarm and fire alarm systems will be installed as part of the project, along with LED lighting throughout.

The Parish Council will look to put up regular updates on the website and Facebook so that progress can be seen.
